Take the racial tension of "The Defiant Ones," mix in a little "women in prison" tease, and you get this outrageous '70s actioner starring Pam Grier and Margaret Markov as chained-together inmates in a Philippines work camp who escape their captors and join up with revolutionaries in the jungle. With Sid Haig, Lynn Borden; Jonathan Demme co-wrote the story.

You're not a true nudophile unless you salivate at the mere words "Women in Prison." One of the best genres in the 70s, you were guaranteed a) chick fights b) shower scenes and c) torture scenes. While The Big Bird Cage is not at the top of my list (because Pam Grier wasn't as naked as I would like), it's still one of the best WIP movies overall. With a ridiculous premise of having homosexual males guarding the female prisoners, the movie features 70s beauties Anitra Ford, Candice Roman, Karen McKevic, Wendy Green, Teda Bracci and many, many, many nameless nudes. A MUST for any WIP collection.
