No movie could have ever suited Pam Grier more than The Arena because she was the modern-day equivalent of an Amazon warrior. The body. The costumes. Her afros! (check out her full-frontal scene for proof.) Surround her with other lovelies like Margaret Markov, Marie Louise and Mary Count and you've got a recipe for a great movie.
Roger Corman had a hand in too many excellent (and less-than-excellent) movies to count, but if you want to see a great example of one of the real classics, The Arena is it.
