Episode 112. Essentially an urban Sex in the City but with a lot more "street" than "city," Zane's Sex Chronicles is a curio of late-night cable entertainment. The leads can, for the most part, deliver their lines convincingly. The production value - though a bit too gauzy - is quite good. And the entire vibe of each episode is sexy, but not exploitative. What results is a show with actual characters moving through their (albeit sexy) lives, all woven together by friendship and the writings of a sex-columnist named "Zane" who just happens to be one of the ladies in this group of gals. The one big knock on the show is that the leads are so attractive that their scant nude scenes become frustrating for regular viewers that want the goods, a problem the producers seem to laughably address by bringing Zane's columns to the screen with softcore/hardcore talent that isn't bashful about dropping their kit and riding off into the sunset. The quick bits of harder softcore make the show feel a bit unsure of what direction it wants to go in, but overall this is a decent show for couples that aren't interested in porn, but that might want to watch something a little saucy.

The Seduction is the first season cliffhanger of the show, wrapping up several storylines but leaving two major cliffhangers in its wake: 1.) How will Charles react to Patience's confession that she is Zane. 2.) What happened to Maricruz after her husband caught her mid-cuddle with another man. Sound soapy? It is, but the episode gives some better-than-usual peaks at several of the regular cast members including the usually shy Patrice Fisher and Laila Odom and the always game Maya Gilbert. Porn starlet Ryder Skye spices up one of Fisher's love scenes by being intercut with Patience and Charles while they're doing the nasty - a hot, but odd assemblage that further stresses the series bizarre quirkiness.

In Body Chemistry 101 softcore veteran Kennedy Johnston (AKA: Danielle Petty) drops by in a guest spot as a friend of the ladies having a bridal shower, and her impending nuptials lead the regular cast to consider where they are in their lives. As usual, Maya Gilbert plays the "Samantha/Kim Cattrall" role here, getting naked for a bit of unsatisfying drunken play. While she's naked and feeling unsatisfied by her man, Patience (Patrice Fisher) stays clothed and gets totally satisfied - her scene giving the old phrase "tossing the salad" a new, more literal spin. And handling the more explicit chores during Zane's fantasy sequences this time around is the "will-make-you-drool" Michelle Maylene who you'll see a lot more of on any given episode of Co-ed Confidential. Here she still manages to send the mercury through the top of the thermometer by getting it on in a chem lab with a vibrator!

Eboni is depressed when Chuck continues to demand favors in exchange for the bank loan and recklessly takes up with a neighbor. Taariq decides to give Ana Marie a taste of her own medicine by flaunting other women in front of her face.
