This was a remake of the 1984 classic of a young high school kid transplanted to a rural hick town where loud music and dancing are prohibited and he convinces the town to change it's way of thinking by screwing the preachers daughter. In this version the preachers daughter is the super cute Julianne Hough, of DWTS fame, and all the clips include her mostly shaking her damn near perfect ass in tight wrangler jeans! Considering the ratings this show generates and what it's done for the careers of some of its contestants, like Mario Lopez and Joey Fatone, you'd think DWTS could entice a better caliber of "star" but you would be wrong. With "celebrities" like Ted McGinley, Brooke Burke and Maurice Greene (who?), others like Kim Kardasian look like Julia Roberts. At least the dancers are still smokin' hot, right?

The dancing competition for "celebrities" returns this fall with an ever dimming wattage of stars and a big lack of dance talent as well. Former Jimmy Kimmel sidekick and radio host Adam Carola may be very funny on the air, but he can't get out of his own way on the dance floor and Pricilla Pressley, a stunningly beautiful woman back in the 80's is now just bizarre looking after a few too many plastic surgeries. However former Olypian Kristi Yamaguchi is awefully cute and a damned fine dancer. She's clearly the early favorite. Likewise, American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth is quite a talented dancer and as hot as ever, even if her career has gone stone cold. The biggest revelation is deaf actress Marlee Matlin. Not only is the fortysomething a better dancer than most of her hearing competitors, but she's still very sexy, in a MILFy sort of way. Magician Penn Gillete, tennis pro Monica Seles, Broadway star Marissa Janet Winoker, football player Jason Taylor and R&B star Mario round out this season's cast.

Okay, it may make me gay, but I find this show oddly entertaining. Can't say why. Yes, they are stretching the definition of "star" with Trista from The Bachelor and Kelly Monaco, but watching people with something of a career go up there and humiliate themselves is cool. I also like the fact the the judges don't hold back just because these people are semifamous. And some of them, like John "J. Peterman" O'Hurley, actually can dance. Another added benefit is that judge Carrie Anne Innaba is damned hot.
