This flick about a stripper (Elizabeth Berkley) who wants to be a big Vegas show star has become such a punchline that it's easy to forget it's good points. Yes, the acting is pretty bad and the script isn't much better, but even at his worst director Paul Verhoven knows how to shoot a movie and let's face it, there is a TON of nudity in this flick and it's got some of the most incredible sex scenes and full blown nudity ever shot for a big budget, major studio Hollywood film. At its release this flick's sexuality was considered so raw that it was slapped with a dreaded NC-17 and many theaters wouldn't show it, banned in Utah, but I suggest you go back and take a look because there's quite a lot to like about this movie. Also stars Bobbie Phillips, Dante McCarthy, Gina Gershon, Lin Tucci, Maria Diaz, Melinda Songer, Rena Riffel and Ungela Brockman, and countless unknowns. Make room on your hard drives boys! Oliver Stone's no-holds-barred, multi-character, gridiron drama starring Al Pacino. This movie is not on the top of my re-wind list but it was more than worth watching just to see Elizabeth Berkley bent over in a pair of panties with her ass arched in the air.

If this movie was set in L.A. this would be a perfect Robert Altman piece. Instead it's set in New York, has a New York pace, and TONS of cameos. It's a fun movie on many levels, but for Bridgette Wilson fans, this is an absolute must since it's her only nude scene so far and I would bet the only one we're ever going to get.
